Features of an ideal candidate

This programme is for ambitious, internationally minded business people, looking to take the next step in their career.

You will be:

  • A motivated and successful business person – we accept applicants from different professional backgrounds
  • A mid-level manager with a minimum of three years professional experience since your undergraduate degree
  • Passionate about doing business in an ethical and sustainable manner, willing to make an impact on your immediate and wider environment

Entry requirements

Essentials

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Statutory work experience
  • All applicants must prove they have a minimum B2 level of English language.
  • If you have graduated from an AACSB, AMBA or EQUIS accredited business school, you may be admitted without an interview.
  • Applicants with GMAT (≥500 points) or GRE (≥151 points) may also be exempt from an interview.

Undergraduate degree

  • You must have completed your degree (i.e. with “Honours”)
  • We will check your GPA
  • We accept applicants from a range of academic backgrounds. However, you will need to have a minimum of 30 credits (ECTS) across any of the following areas: methodological studies; economics; business; social sciences; professional skills.

Statutory work experience

  • If you only have an undergraduate degree, you will need to have graduated before September 2019 and have at least three years of professional experience since graduating.
  • If you have a postgraduate degree, you will need to have graduated before September 2020 and have at least two years of professional experience since graduating.

International students

  • Self-funded applicants should apply via our website by 15 May 2022.
  • If you meet the eligibility requirements, you may wish to apply for a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship via this link. Applications will be open from mid-November 2021 until mid-January 2022 (now closed for September 2022).
  • If you meet the eligibility requirements, you may wish to apply for a Diaspora scholarship via this link. Again, applications will be open from mid-November 2021 until mid-January 2022 (now closed for September 2022).

Hungarian nationals

Hungarian nationals should apply through Felvi by mid-February 2022 (now closed for September 2022).

About interviews

To be admitted onto our MBA programme, you will usually need to pass an interview. Our interviews are usually conducted online (via Teams or Zoom). You will receive email invitations from international.application@uni-corvinus.hu and the MBA programme team if you need an interview. Please make sure to check your junk/spam folders regularly.

The following will be assessed at your interview: 

  • Knowledge relevant to your programme (25%)
  • Skills relevant to your programme (25%)
  • Motivation (50%).
  • The interviewer will also assess your English speaking and listening skills.

Documents needed for application

In addition to completing the online application form, you will need: 

  • CV
  • Work reference (contact details of reference and letter of recommendation)
  • Letter of motivation (400-600 words recommended)
  • Academic certificates and transcripts
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Passport

In case of successful application

If you are conditionally accepted, you should ensure that your qualifications are recognised and you undertake the credit acceptance procedure. These procedures are outlined in our June 2021 blog post.
Once your application is unconditionally accepted:

  • Self-funded students will be required to pay their semester 1 tuition fees.
  • If you require a visa to enter Hungary and study you should apply as soon as possible.
  • You should secure accommodation for the next academic year (if required).
