Corvinus University of Budapest has over a 100-year-old history and is one of the leading universities in Hungary in Business and Management, Economics, and Social Sciences. The Institute of Strategy and Management announces an open call for applications for the part-time (0,5 FTE) Research Professor position for an indefinite period.

The starting date is autumn semester 2024.

Job description and key duties:

Teaching duties:

  • Teaching subjects belonging to the education portfolio of the Institute of Strategy and Management in the field of Creativity, Intuition and Artificial Intelligence in weekly class hours as defined by the Academic Career Model.

Research duties:

  • Writing articles in prestigious international and domestic journals in the field of Creativity, Intuition and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Participating at important international and domestic conferences, building international scientific relationships, getting involved in research projects, and active research application activity in the field of finance, thus securing the resources of the research projects and contributing to the internationalisation of the Institute and the University.
  • Participate in grant procedures. (Applying, managing, participating, etc.)

Service duties:

  • Active participation in the professional public life of the Institute and the University, performing service tasks determined by the head of the Institute.
  • Supporting early-career academics at the university, including supervising PhD students as well as students participating in student competitions.
  • Mentoring assistant professor and associate professor colleagues in the Institute.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • PhD degree
  • Teaching-research experience gained in higher education or research experience acquired at a research centre
  • The candidate must be an internationally recognised representative of the given field of science with outstanding scientific research work
  • Extensive publication track record in highly ranked journals (Q1, Q2) in the area of finance especially, but not exclusively in the English language
  • Workshop-creating experience which is confirmed by the management of research workshops
  • Achievements in educating future generations of scientists proven by a track record of successful PhD supervision in any relevant discipline
  • Capability to manage the attainment of scientific tasks, coordinating and managing the activities of research groups
  • Experience in the representation of his/her field of science, the University and the country in domestic and/or international scientific public life; eg. have a membership at relevant national and international scientific organisations
  • Experience in winning research grants and managing research grant programmes

Desirable experience:

  • Research activity with international impact, substantial international citation (verifiable)
  • Active role in the activities of doctoral programmes and/or mentoring of doctoral students
  • Active role in talent management
  • Experience in the coordination of research groups with the involvement of doctoral students and junior colleagues
  • Regular participation in international conferences, membership in international networks
  • Participation in the work of professional organisations
  • Participation in the editing and/or membership in the editorial staff of domestic and international journals

Documents and certificates to be submitted as part of the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae including a detailed presentation of teaching, research and service activities and results
  • Summary table of achievements (Please fill in the Excel Summary Table for professor applications – you can find it at the bottom of this page)
  • Cover letter, including the presentation of future academic plans (educational, teaching development and research plans)
  • References written by at least two reputable leading professors or researchers of the discipline (signed, scanned)
  • Scanned copies of the documents verifying the university degree, scientific rank (eg. PhD degree) and of the documents verifying other professional qualifications. (In case of scientific ranks obtained abroad, the nostrification will be arranged in the next phase of the selection procedure.)
