Main responsibilities / duties of the Vice-Rector according to the Organisational & Operational Rules of the University
Overview of research activities:
- Monitoring the research activities of the University and coordinating the University’s national and international research proposals.
- Developing, proposing and implementing a research strategy to support the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives, and continuously developing research opportunities.
- Developing, proposing and implementing actions, regulations and instruments to ensure the achievement of the research strategy, and its coherence with the promotion process.
- Leading the development of the research infrastructure (journals, textbooks, software, databases, library) and coordinating it at the university level.
- Encouraging, organising, and leading the University’s research funding activities. Supporting and incubating the involvement of the University in research proposals and preparing management decisions.
- Overview of the University’s publication activities, defining the portfolio of journals and publications related to the University.
- Tracking of the University’s research and development activities, overview of data management. Contributing to the university accreditation process in general and in particular the chapters related to academic career and research.
Supervising the faculty:
- Guide and support the activities of the Heads of Institutes, Research Institute Heads, and to contribute to the development and implementation of the HR strategy for the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives.
- Contributing to the development and operation of the academic career model.
- Contribute to the development of medium-term and annual workforce plans and management of financial resources of the institutes and research institutes.
- Overview the performance of the University’s academic staff community, summarising the resulting conclusions, drawing up action plans where necessary, monitoring their implementation in collaboration with the Head of Human Resources.
- Coordinating and supervising the organisation and running of international scientific conferences at university or institute level.
- Overseeing the organisation of the Corvinus Doctoral Schools, coordinating the PhD courses of the doctoral schools and ensuring their development in line with the University’s strategy and international standards.
- Supervision of doctoral training and the habilitation process, coordination tasks at University level.
- Supervision of the Centre for Grants and Projects.
- Supervision of the University Library and Archives.
- Monitors the monthly meetings with the head of the institutes and secures information flows towards and from the Executive Committee.
Nature of employment
Full-time, permanent employment in a senior position, governed by the Labour Code (Act I of 2012) and the University’s Employment Regulations. The management mandate is for a fixed term until 30 November 2028.

- a declaration that the applicant undertakes to have a declaration of assets and liabilities.
- a declaration that the applicant does not have any conflict of interest within the meaning of the Employer’s Code of Conduct and that, in the event of a conflict of interest, the applicant will waive the conflict of interest.
- a copy of the document(s) proving the required qualifications and experience.
