Vice Rector for Student Affairs
The Vice Rector for Student Affairs is responsible for the student services provided by the University, the services related to academic administration, the University’s talent management activities, career support services, and the continuous improvement of the student learning experience and well-being.
Main responsibilities / duties of the Vice-Rector according to the Organisational & Operational Rules of the University
Supervise the functions of Study Administration Services, Career Support Services, the Talent Management Centre, Student Experience and Wellbeing, the Centre for Physical Education and Sport and the Specialised Colleges.
The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs is responsible for liaising with the Student Government, overseeing the operation of student organisations and special colleges, with particular regard to their educational and academic activities, while respecting the autonomy of student communities.
Duties of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, broken down by area:
Supervise Student Administration Services:
- Study Administration Services is a functional unit responsible for the administration, advisory and service tasks related to studies of the university students.
- Participates in the organisation and management of admission activities, admission preparation and admission procedures.
- Liaising with students, advising students on academic matters, providing services related to applications and student studies, and carrying out the necessary administrative tasks, assisting in the issuing of diplomas and organising graduation ceremonies.
- Providing services related to the University’s scholarship programmes and student benefits.
- Conducting the student application process for part-time study abroad.
- Provide content management, regulatory and case management of the Neptun Unified Learning System.
- Full management of student records.
- Contributing to the preparation of the Student Requirements System and coordinating its practical implementation with the VR for academic programme and with the admission office.
Supervise talent management activities:
- Talent Management Centre is a competence centre for the management, coordination, organisation and supervision of the University’s talent management activities.
- Elaboration and development of the University’s talent management strategy and monitor its implementation.
- Supervision and support of talent management workshops and specialised colleges that host students’ extra-curricular activities.
- Providing operational support for student research groups.
- Organisation and coordination services to support University students in finding the right placement and job for their personal goals and studies.
Supervise Student Experience and Wellbeing activities:
- Student Experience and Wellbeing includes services that promote the physical, mental and social wellbeing of students, contribute to a balanced student life, combat isolation, and foster a culture of care and positive interaction within the University community.
- Coordination and continuous improvement of student onboarding, with a particular focus on the integration of international students into the university community.
- Providing students with support in their studies, career planning and mental health, with special attention to assisting special learning needs.
Supervise student sport activities:
- Competence centre responsible for organising regular physical activity and sporting activities in line with the University’s core activities.
- Carrying out educational tasks related to physical education.
- Coordination of tasks relating to student and competitive sport.
- Serving the recreational and mass sporting needs of university citizens, coordinating and organising programmes and activities.
- Assessing the needs of people with disabilities in the field of sport and developing programmes to create the conditions for sporting activities.
- Overview of data on student welfare and placement, and student satisfaction. Contributing to the university accreditation process in general and in particular the chapters related to student journey, placement and satisfaction.
Coordinate specialised colleges:
- Ensure the operating in conditions of the special colleges that contribute effectively to the achievement of its objectives.
Nature of employment
Full-time, 1-year senior employment contract, governed by the Labour Code (Act I of 2012) and the University’s Employment Regulations. The management mandate is for a fixed term until 30 November 2025.

- Full Professor or Associate Professor.
- Research and teaching experience at the forefront of international academia.
- Leadership experience gained in a higher education institution.
- Fluency in English both in written and in verbal communication.

- a description of the professional and management action plan for the post, 3-5 pages in English, setting out the specific objectives to be achieved and the ideas and plans to support their implementation.
- an official certificate of good conduct, not more than 3 months old, stating that you are not under a ban on higher education.
- a declaration that the applicant undertakes to have a declaration of assets and liabilities.
- a declaration that the applicant does not have any conflict of interest within the meaning of the Employer’s Code of Conduct and that, in the event of a conflict of interest, the applicant will waive the conflict of interest.
- a copy of the document(s) proving the required qualifications and experience.
