Assistant Professor – ARH/69/2024

The Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation announces an open call for applications for the Assistant Professor position for 3 years definite period.

The starting date is the autumn semester of 2024.

Job description and key duties:

Teaching duties:

  • Teaching subjects belonging to the education portfolio of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in weekly class hours as defined by the Academic Career Model.
  • Providing lectures and seminars on Bachelor and Master levels. Especially in the fields of Sports Business Studies, International Business and Business Economics mainly in the English language.
  • Teaching load is defined according to the Academic Career Model of the Corvinus University of Budapest: research focused 6, balanced 12, education focused 18 contact hours of 45min / week (please note these hours might change in the new academic year)

Research duties:

  • Writing articles in prestigious international and domestic journal in the field of Sports Business and Sports Management, Sports Marketing, International Business and/or other fields related to the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
  • Participating at important international and domestic conferences, building international scientific relationships, getting involved in research projects, active research application activity in the field of Sports Business and Sports Management, International Business, Business Economics and/or other fields related to the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, thus securing the resources of the research projects and contributing to the internationalisation of the Institute and the University.

Service duties:

  • Active participation in the professional life of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the University, performing service tasks determined by the head of the institute
  • Supporting early-career academics at the university, supervising Bachelor and Master students as well as students participating in student competitions.
  • Mentoring students and colleagues in the Institute.
  • Involvement in the development of the taught courses.
  • Contributing to the supervision of TDK (Scientific Students’ Associations Conference).
  • Work in projects, committees and other bodies determined by the Head of the Institute.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

Doctorate;

  • At least 3 years of teaching and research experience gained in higher education, or at least 3 years of professional experience.
  • Adequately prepared to teach at the required level of standard (has the knowledge, experience, and foreign language skills) in the discipline of the courses
  • Research achievement, regular domestic and international publications.
  • The candidate must meet the job requirements set out in the Corvinus Academic Career Model.
  • High-level English language skills
  • Openness towards innovative teaching methods
  • Creativity
  • The candidate is expected to be high-quality oriented
  • A problem-solving attitude
  • The candidate should be a team player
  • Experience in case-based teaching

Desirable criteria:

  • Feedback (student evaluation, evaluation of direct supervisor) verifying teaching excellence
  • International teaching experience
  • Experience gained in international research projects including ongoing research, publications under review, project proposals in progress
  • International embeddedness, regular participation in international conferences, membership in international networks
  • Considerable publication results.
  • PhD obtained at a university with remarkable international ranking (ARWU)

Documents and certificates to be submitted as part of the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae including the detailed presentation of the teaching, research and service activities and results
  • Summary table of achievements (Please fill in the Summary table Excel for assistant professor applications)
  • Cover letter, including the presentation of future academic plans (educational, teaching development and research plans)
  • References written by at least two reputable leading professors or researchers of the discipline (signed, scanned)
  • Scanned copies of the documents verifying the university degree, scientific rank (eg. PhD degree) and of the documents verifying other professional qualifications. (In case of scientific ranks obtained abroad, the nostrification will be arranged in the next phase of the selection procedure.)
