Bridge2Justice proposal for a Horizon Europe project
REKK has applied for a Horizon Europe project as a partner of a consortia of 15 UE research institutes from Central and Eastern European countries.The project will carry out a cross-European analysis, with field work focusing on 7 of the EU member-states that are most dependent on coal – Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Spain, as well as two Western Balkan states with significant coal production and utilization – Montenegro and Serbia. The proposed research activities will be very relevant also for other countries struggling to reduce energy poverty and inequality, and to increase the social acceptability of low-carbon transition policies away from fossil fuels.
The project objectives will be:
- Mapping concepts for managing socioeconomic, political and governance challenges to JT
- Identifying and analysing vulnerability of households
- Comparative assessment of socioeconomic, socio-cultural and gender factors impeding the JT
- Developing and piloting an evaluation toolkit for territorial JT plans
- Participatory foresight underpinning the understanding of social acceptability and support for the climate transition
Decision on the proposal could be expected early spring of 2022.
