Workshop short description:

The main course objectives are:

1) to give tips based on experience with editors’ biases in decision-making when they deal with a scientific paper, and

2) to give practical suggestions on how to upgrade the abstract and introduction and improve the possibility of avoiding desk rejection.

In particular, we will discuss the standard practices (tacit knowledge) in writing an academic manuscript (focusing on the abstract and introduction critical parts) and the success factors in dealing with the publishing procedure.

In addition, several one-to-one coaching sessions will be delivered to the participants to help them improve the abstract and introduction parts of their manuscripts.
