John C. Hull presents Machine Learning in Business

Department of Finance of Corvinus University of Budapest in collaboration with PRMIA Hungary Chapter organizes book presentation on the 23rd of February, where John C. Hull presents his book „Machine Learning in Business: An Introduction to the World of Data Science”

Machine learning is becoming an increasingly important tool in business—so much so that almost all employees are likely to be impacted by it in one way or another over the next few years. Machine learning is concerned with using large data sets to learn the relationships between variables, make predictions, and take decisions in a changing environment. This book is designed to provide readers with the knowledge to enable them to work effectively with data science professionals.

About the Author

John Hull is a University Professor at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Prior to writing this book, he wrote three best-selling books in the derivatives and risk management area. His books have an applied focus and he is proud that they sell equally well in the practitioner and college markets. He is academic director of FinHub, Rotman’s Financial Innovation Lab, which carries out research and develops educational material in all aspects of financial innovation. He has consulted for many companies throughout the world and has won many teaching awards, including University of Toronto’s prestigious Northrop Frye award.
