You do not have to decide at high school, on the basis of any random information, whether you need economic or political knowledge: you can make up your mind after having learned about both, with philosophy, especially ethics and philosophy of science, providing the necessary and broad human perspective. After three semesters, you are free to combine the two fields of knowledge that you consider most important, with a smaller proportion of the third field, but retaining it throughout.
