About the position

The Institute of Strategy and Management is looking for an assistant or associate professor for a 3-year definite period in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. The starting date is the Autumn semester of 2024, but some flexibility is possible. Different tenure track schemes can be offered in case of mutual satisfaction.

The Institute of Strategy and Management at the Corvinus University of Budapest is a vibrant academic community with five departments, the candidate will join the Department of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Development. Faculty at OBHRD conducts multidisciplinary research inspired by multiple theoretical approaches that range from positivist to interpretive and critical paradigms and apply both qualitative and quantitative methods. Faculty is dedicated to engaged scholarship and student learning and teaches a wide range of courses within human resource management, organizational behaviour and organization theory. The University’s MSc. in Management and Leadership program has been ranked among the Financial Times’ best master’s in management programs for several years.

We are looking for research excellence in organizational behaviour and related topics such as diversity and inclusion, leadership, identity and human resource development, and for strong knowledge of qualitative methods and engaged scholarship in interpretive and/or critical approaches. The ideal candidate has excellent international network, publishes in high-quality

journals including top journals, fulfils editorial roles, and conducts impactful research in their field of expertise. The candidate will teach English language courses in OB, HRM and related fields at undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate levels. The teaching load is 4 hours per week including supervision of students’ thesis work and / or doctoral supervision. Knowledge of Hungarian is not required.

About the candidate:

We are looking for a dynamic, high-potential candidate who:

  • holds a PhD in Business and Management or related fields from an internationally recognised university
  • has at least 10 years of teaching and/or research experience gained in higher education
  • has a publication record in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals including top-journals, has a high citation index, editorial experience in top-journals is an advantage
  • can leverage innovative pedagogy to deliver high-quality classes in English, has experience in doctoral supervision
  • has experience in international research projects and in successful applications for research grants
