“In the name of my colleagues and myself, I warmly welcome you on the website of the Institute of World Economy. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of its existence this year, our Institute is one of the oldest institutions of Corvinus University of Budapest (CUB) which plays an important role in the university education and research.Our institute is present in all three levels of higher education (Bachelor, Master, and PhD). We have programmes in Hungarian and English as well.
Our MSc in International Economy and Business currently is the only programme in Hungary which offers a scholarship in this field. In response to the demands of the labuor market, our MSc program offers the following specializations: International Economic Analysis, EU Economic Policy Analysis, and International Development.Besides, IWE operates its own sub-program at the International Relations Multidisciplinary Ph.D. School, and we are treating a unique double degree program with several outstanding higher education institutions in the world, including the University College London, University of Groningen, University of Tilburg and the University of Liége.
Our colleagues have diverse and varied educational and research portfolio that reflects on the challenges of our time. We offer basic and advanced level of theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of international and world economics, international finance, international economic policy, international political economics, economics of development, integration economics, international economic relations and institutions, or international large corporations and banking systems. Our institute is involved in the training of middle and senior managers who are not only interested in knowing the world and the world economy, but also actively shaping them.
The value of the Institute of World Economy is in its community. Uniquely in the university, we have three colleagues, who are regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Our institute is also proud to be a leading player in two successful Horizon 2020 programs (Fatigue and Poprebel) supported by the European Union.
