It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Dr. György Mohai, economist, honorary associate professor, and former CEO of the Budapest Stock Exchange. He was at the age of 73.

Ferenc’s path at university is a story of success: he finished first place at the Student’s Scientific Research Conference (SSRC) twice, worked as a professor’s assistant, got to understand how the European Parliament works and actively represented the students of the university through the Student Council. In his interview with Tamás Varga, he elaborated on what motivates him in achieving his goals, and also made suggestions for those interested in taking up SSRC.

Anett Zanócz was actively involved in university life even as a student. She worked as a demonstrator at Corvinus University for nearly four and a half years—first at the Department of Macroeconomics, then for a longer period at the Department of Accounting. She was also one of the founding members of the Luca Pacioli Society, which initially aimed to build a professional community for accounting students, but over time, its activities expanded significantly beyond its original scope.

The conference was held for the eighth time at Corvinus University of Budapest on February 28. The main theme of the event was the impact of artificial intelligence and digital solutions on tourism and mobility. Participants had the opportunity to listen to more than 60 presentations.

At the conference of the Sustainability Platform of Hungarian Universities, 11 universities from Budapest and the countryside presented their achievements and future plans.

At the DigiEduHack 2024 competition, Corvinus University of Budapest is represented by the Little Princedom team, the members of which qualified even for the international final. The competitors - Panna Bögi, Eszter Kovács, Miron Jurinka and Bertalan Hudák - are Communication and Media Science BA students, who with the support of Veronika Pelle, media literacy-research Assistant Lecturer, came up with an idea that can bring about changes in digital education, moreover in the personal media usage habits of young people’s and their parents’. In Efi Bekiarisz’s interview for Közgazdász Online, they talked about their planned digital education application done for the competition, which until the 26th of February you are also able to support with your vote, in the public vote.

Prof. György Hajnal’s involvement in the RADAR project marks another step in Corvinus University’s commitment to global research collaboration and contributes to enhancing the Public Policy Department’s MSc in Public Policy and Management program.

On the ground floor of the building, in the corridor behind the entrance, in the former cloakroom area, automatic (code-locked) storage boxes suitable for storing coats, bags and even suitcases have been installed.

The final exam period for the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year will take place between June 16 and June 25, 2025.

The ConSIMium is a simulation event organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, where each EU member state participates with a six-member delegation. The event takes place in the actual decision-making chambers of the Council, allowing participants to experience EU negotiations firsthand.

On 24 February, the Lab of Geopolitics of Corvinus University of Budapest hosted an engaging and insightful lecture delivered by West Virginia University Professor Briane Turley on the topic of the Hungarian experience in the Appalachian region.

Corvinus University of Budapest secured an impressive 3rd place at the CaseIT 2025 International MIS Case Competition in Vancouver, demonstrating their analytical and problem-solving skills against top global teams in a highly competitive environment.

At the beginning of January, our master’s students participated in the John Molson International Case Competition in Montreal, where they secured first place in their division and a shared fourth place overall.

"During the program, students can gain business knowledge, learn from leaders they can respect as mentors, and connect with like-minded professionals who can help them later," says Zoltán Bokányi, Controlling Manager of 4iG Space and Defence Technologies Ltd. The young manager recently finished the Corvinus-MSM-Maastricht University executive MBA.

Several webinars and a major conference are scheduled for this year.

The APA Academic Writer citation management tool consists of three modules: a self-paced learning material on citations (Learning Center), a reference management tool (Reference Center), and a module supporting the creation of written works (Writing Center).

The tool designed to assist in analysing academic content and citations in scientific literature, will be accessible free of charge to all members of the Corvinus University from 03 March until 02 April.
