About the Centre
The Center for Central Asia Research was established by Corvinus
University of Budapest in November 2016. It conducts applied research to
support both government decision makers and the private sector, as well
as the European Union. The Center has a small core staff and a network
of non-resident scholars with long experience in and in-depth knowledge
of Central Asia and its neighbours. The Center intends to work closely
with Central Asian partners to conduct research on key issues of
political and economic transformation, making full use of the unique
experience of Hungary and other Central-European countries in this area.
The
Center places special emphasis on supporting EU decision makers in the
development of an effective and realistic Central Asia policy in the
political, security and economic fields. It intends actively to
cooperate with research institutes in other EU countries to form a
network that produces high-quality,
comprehensive applied research on Central Asia.
