Ecological Economics Research Center
Ecological economics is a transdisciplinary research field that seeks to transcend mainstream economic thought in order to transition to an environmentally sustainable and socially just modus operandi. The Centre for Ecological Economics within CIAS serves as a hub for researchers of all disciplines both within and beyond Corvinus interested in this heterodox field. Our research topics all revolve around the theoretical and practical angles of the ecological transformation ranging from participatory and policy-oriented research on economic transitions through practice-based action research on participatory democracies to foresight projects uncovering potential beyond growth futures. As the primary concept of ecological economics is the embeddedness of the economy into societies and societies into the ecological world making up enormously complex systems, our research also ventures into highly theoretical territories of systems views inviting researchers from distinct disciplines.
