Corvinus University and the research center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan have committed to cooperation and information exchange in their joint declaration of intent. The collaboration will be realized in the near future through bilateral visits, joint research projects, and conferences.

On 21 February, the Corvinus University of Budapest and OTP Bank launched the third round of their joint mentorship programme, now with sixteen mentor-mentee pairs. Over the past year, the programme has expanded and deepened, fostering long-lasting career-impacting relationships between mentors and mentees.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), and as part of the celebratory campaign, a video series titled “For Me, It’s Science – Researchers’ Confessions” has been launched.

On March 15, 2025, the Ministry of Culture and Innovation awarded economist Dr. Balázs Lengyel, research professor at the Department of Network Science at Corvinus University and head of the Agglomeration and Social Networks Research Group at the Institute of Economics of the HUN-REN Centre for Economic and Regional Studies, with the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (Civilian Division) in recognition of his contributions to advancing national interests and enriching universal human values.

The Minister for Culture and Innovation held a press conference on Thursday at Corvinus University to discuss the achievements and future plans of the one-year-old Pannonia Scholarship Program. Lajos György Szabó, Vice-Rector for Education, also spoke at the event.

The third quarter of the 2024/2025 academic year is coming to an end, which means it’s time to give feedback on the quarter subjects. The Corvinus University Educational Quality EnhancementTeam invites students to share their experiences through the MyView questionnaires. It is important that at this stage, only the quarterly courses can be evaluated; the evaluation period for the semester-long courses will begin later.

The Business Process Management Hungary (BPM-H), founded under the leadership of Péter Fehér, aims to unite and support professionals in the field, as well as to promote the spread of the latest methodologies and technologies in Hungary. Their first meeting takes place on April 10.

At the professional conference on the Utilization of Socmodern buildings organized by the Association of Hungarian Architects, Péter Kis, lead designer, and Tibor Misovicz, project manager, presented in detail the background, challenges, and issues of the Gellért Campus.

"Shock anticipation", a novel mechanism introduced in this paper, describes the behavior of individuals to voluntarily resign from their current positions upon observing an external shock in the broader environment, even when their own organizations are not directly targeted and affected by the adverse event. Research from Corvinus University examines this phenomenon among foreign directors of Chinese-listed companies, particularly in the context of US sanctions against China, which began in 2018.

From this year, Gyula Zilahy, full professor at Corvinus University of Budapest leads the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS), a global organization that brings together nearly 3,000 members from five continents.

The application deadline for the doctoral programmes at Corvinus University of Budapest has been extended. The new deadline is March 25.

The Decision Techniques "Good Practice Award" ceremony was once again held at Corvinus University of Budapest, where students were recognized for their impactful, stakeholder-inclusive, and creative initiatives.

In the framework of the collaboration, which started last year, students were able to participate in research projects promoting sustainability and investigating the effects of artificial intelligence, which are planned to continue in the future.

The John Von Neumann Award, founded by the Rajk College for Advanced Studies, marks its thirtieth ceremony this year. The recipient, Guido Tabellini, is a professor of economics at Bocconi University. After receiving the award, Mr. Tabellini elaborated on the book he has written with joint authors, expected to be published this autumn. The publication draws comparisons between the cultural and organizational history of China and Europe between the two millenniums. Tamás Varga reported on the event.
