Election Announcement – Doctoral School of Sociology and Communication Science
The Doctoral Student Council (DÖK) calls for nominations and elections to the Doctoral School of Sociology and Communication Science (SZKDI).
The DÖK Supervisory Board hereby publishes the following election announcement, offering the SZKDI the opportunity to actively involve their new students in the DÖK election process.

Eligible Voters and Candidates
During the election, all doctoral students with an active student status at the University are eligible to vote and to be voted for. Doctoral students are eligible to run as candidates and vote in the doctoral school to which they belong based on their student status. If a doctoral student belongs to multiple doctoral schools, they are eligible to vote and run as a candidate in their chosen doctoral school, but they can only vote or run as a candidate in one doctoral school.
Method, Location, and Time of Nomination
Candidates shall be nominated electronically from the candidate’s own email address to the email address of the DÖK Supervisory Board (dokfb@uni-corvinus.hu) with a valid nomination. The candidate must specify the following in the nomination:
- full name;
- date of birth;
- NEPTUN code;
- the name of the doctoral school in which they are running as a candidate;
- optionally, an introduction text of at least 200, but no more than 500 characters (in English and Hungarian).
The nomination period is from May 8, 2024, to May 15, 2024.
Method, Location, and Time of Disclosure of Candidates’ Identity and Information Provided by Them
During the voting, voters can only vote for candidates from their own doctoral school. Each voter can support up to three candidates. Each vote carries the same weight. Only one vote can be cast for each candidate. The vote is valid if the voter supports at least one candidate.
The voting period is from May 17, 2024, to June 3, 2024, 12:00.
At least 10 consecutive business days must be provided for voting. If on the 10th business day the necessary conditions for the validity and success of the election are met, the voting must be extended.
Method, Location, and Time of Announcement of Voting Results
The candidate who receives the most votes becomes the delegate. The two candidates with the next highest number of votes, but at least one vote, in the same doctoral school, shall become alternate delegate of the Assembly in the order of the number of votes they received.
The results of the election and the percentage participation data broken down by doctoral school shall be made publicly available on the DÖK website, and eligible voters shall be notified electronically of the disclosure.
Legal Remedy
Any doctoral student may file a complaint with the DÖK Supervisory Board within 3 business days from becoming aware of the fact or circumstance giving rise to the complaint, by submitting their complaint to the following contact: dokfb@uni-corvinus.hu
