This satirical film by Péter Bacsó is set in 1951, during the darkest Rákosi era, in the time of forced relocations. Lucy Sziráky (played by Dorottya Udvaros), a beautiful and ambitious operetta actress, is exiled to a village from the capital due to her ex-husband’s aristocratic status. Her promising career is abruptly halted by this relocation. 

For Lucy, adapting to rural life is doubly challenging: she is far from her true element—the theater—and must also confront the disdain of her aristocratic peers, who see her as an intruder. But Lucy is a born actress and a true woman. She soon finds her voice with the other exiled residents and the men who admire her: the local party secretary and the district police chief. Yet, at some point, she’s had enough… 

A true story of perseverance, with plenty of humor!
