On 10 April, the CheckINN Revitalizer will be back on the road! The aim of the competition is to reward ideas for the reuse of abandoned or disused sites and properties for tourism. The call for entries offers university students from different disciplines the opportunity to collaborate and create value together, as well as to encourage entrepreneurship. The ideas competition, which includes tourism, architecture and design, aims to exploit cross-sectoral value creation and synergies.

In 2025 teams of two and three will be able to compete for a net grant of 1,000,000 HUF each.

Which categories are open?

  • Building scale: a category for innovative ideas specifically for a building in the Rust Belt.
  • Site Scale: This category is primarily for ideas for larger scale sites or areas, which may include buildings that have lost their function, but with a greater emphasis on rethinking undeveloped open spaces or urban design connections.

What do we need to submit?

In the first round, you will be asked to submit a video of up to 2 minutes in length, in the form of an “elevator pitch”, introducing yourself, your team and the rust belt building you have identified, with the new tourism function you have in mind.

What is the deadline?

The deadline for the first round of video submissions is midnight 25 May 2025.
