IR TALKS 3: Towards three years of war – the Ukrainian and Russian societies
The upcoming session of the IR TALKS series organized by the Department of International Relations is dedicated to the social aspects of the Russia-Ukraine war.Date: 16 Dec 2024 17:30-19:00

During the discussion first we assess the attitudes of the Russian and Ukrainian societies to the war, including their willingness to fight and opinions on possible ways of conflict settlement. In the second part of the debate, we will widen the focus and evaluate also the domestic political and economic situations in Russia and Ukraine from the perspectives of the respective societies. The event ends with a Q&A session.
The two invited speakers are:
1) Eszter Borissza, sociologist (Eötvös Loránd University, Doctoral School of Sociology)
2) Balázs Jarábik, political analyst, diplomat, international development executive, Eastern Europe expert.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. András Rácz, senior lecturer of the Corvinus University of Budapest (Institute of Global Studies, Department of International Law).
