The John von Neumann Award – Thirty Years of Excellence in Social Sciences

The John von Neumann Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions of the Rajk College, awarded since 1994 to scholars who have made a lasting impact on social science thinking. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that the awardees are selected by the students, ensuring that the recipient serves as an inspiration for future social scientists.

The 2025 Neumann János Award Recipient: Guido Tabellini 

Guido Tabellini, a professor at Università Bocconi, is a distinguished researcher in political economy. His work explores the relationship between democratic institutions, political accountability, and economic development, significantly influencing academic and policy discussions. 

He will deliver a lecture titled “Two Paths to Prosperity: Culture and Institutions in Europe and China”
