There are nearly 1,100 schools in Ukraine where the educational process has been suspended entirely because the security situation is so tense. Many classrooms across Ukraine are simply unusable, after being damaged or destroyed, or used in some areas for military purposes. Same goes for the higher education. Since the war began, thousands of students and educators have fled the country, or are serving in the Ukrainian army.
We know that university education or even research is very difficult during the war, but universities in Ukraine are trying to provide online courses to their students – as long as they can mentally or physically participate.
The war in Ukraine has brought the higher education community together. At the Danube Cup conference on April 28th, we had the opportunity to talk to Ukrainian colleagues from the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and the Izmail State University of Humanities. We asked the colleagues about the academic help needed right now.
In the meantime, Izmail State University informed us about their intention to join the Danube Cup network – we are more than delighted! The university is located along the Danube.
Colleagues from the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman will organize an online conference via Zoom on May 30, 2022, 10am-1pm Ukrainian time, dedicated to the topic: “An Innovative Entrepreneurship: The Present and Future Prospects“. Academic chair of the conference is Prof. Liudmyla Petrenko. Colleagues with relevant research are invited to submit their short abstract here.
