Society and Economy is the most cited economics and social science journal published in Hungary in 2025
According to a recent study, the university’s Society and Economy journal jumped to the top among the 363 outlets included in lists of the IX. Section of Economics and Law of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA).
According to a recent study the university’s Society and Economy journal is the most cited journal among the 363 outlets included in lists of the IX. Section of Economics and Law of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA). Society and Economy jumped from eighth place in 2024 to the top position and has also shown continuous improvement in other indicators (H-index and Scopus SJR) in recent years.
The journal continues to welcome theoretically grounded but primarily empirical articles with relevance to Central and Eastern Europe.
