Corvinus University of Budapest has once again been awarded the AMBA accreditation, the most prestigious international recognition in the field of postgraduate business education. Distinguished guests, faculty members, students and alumni of our MBA programme gathered to celebrate this significant achievement, a milestone that reflects the unwavering commitment to excellence that defines our institution.
“Prof Dr Lajos Szabó, Acting Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest, commenced the event by quoting Sydney J. Harris:” The true aim of education is to transform mirrors into windows.” In his opinion this insightful declaration vividly illustrates the transformative potential of a quality MBA education provided at Corvinus. It urges students to look beyond self-reflection and embrace a world of boundless opportunities and diverse perspectives, rather than merely internalizing learned lessons,” stated Lajos Szabó.
Dr Anthony Radev, President of Corvinus University went on to emphasize the significance of top-tier education in the selection of the appropriate workforce. Our university currently offers two outstanding MBA programs conducted in English: the Full-Time MBA and the Executive MBA. These programs have been renewed in the past 3 years, and they aim to guide students through transformative experiences at different stages of their professional careers.
The reaccreditation validates that Corvinus’ MBA programmes meet the highest academic standards and provide candidates with robust and superior programmes designed to create a significant impact in our ever-changing world. The accreditation’s extension for five years, surpassing the prior three-year term, signifies AMBA’s increasing trust and acknowledgment of Corvinus’ notable progress.
The event provided an occasion to unveil and discuss fresh insights regarding the Campus of the Future, the new Ménesi Campus with the MBA community. Prior to the celebration, a few of the participants had the unique opportunity to explore the construction site and take part in a guided campus tour.
At the celebration, Dr Andrea Toarniczky, the Programme Director of Corvinus Executive MBA, emphasized the importance of accreditations such as AMBA. She underscored how they symbolize excellence and commitment, engaging faculty, students, and alumni. The Executive MBA programme was spotlighted as a path towards developing responsible and transformational leaders, and AMBA has acknowledged, that the curriculum is well-aligned with these objectives. She highlighted that the institution earned praise for its diverse and dynamic student body, its dedicated and enthusiastic faculty, as well as internationalization of the programme through the dual-degree in cooperation with Maastricht University (UM) – Maastricht School of Management and SEED Executive School.
Dr Miklós Kozma, Full-time MBA Programme Director continued with expressing gratitude for the attendees’ input regarding the Full-time MBA programme and emphasized the programme’s excellent students and international nature. He stated that receiving the accreditation also signifies a commitment to ongoing progress. He also elaborated on the current initiatives to introduce a one-year, full-time MBA program, as well as to enhance integration of the student journey.
The MBA Alumni, present at the event, not only graced the occasion but also shared their personal experiences and talked about how the programme influenced their career journeys.
In relation to the Alumni testimonials, Dr Serge Sych, Vice-President, Stakeholder Engagement, stressed the significance of connectivity while presenting the pillars of the University’s alumni strategy. These elements encompass fostering a sense of community, establishing a co-branding and storytelling practice within the broader alumni network, providing on-campus alumni services, and expanding opportunities for our alumni to contribute their time, skills, and resources to the community.
”It was wonderful to personally meet such an enthusiastic group of MBA alumni during the event, who are keen to get involved and give back to their alma mater!” – remarked Dr Sych, while adding that our alumni can expect further communication from the central alumni & careers team in the near future about upcoming events and opportunities of interest during the fall.
The leadership of Corvinus and Patrick Bohl, Dean of Postgraduate and Executive Programmes wishes to convey their deepest gratitude to all colleagues and members of the MBA community who have been instrumental in achieving this remarkable success. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work!
