Success for Corvinus – Grappling MEFOB

On 29 March 2025, the Ludovika Arena, National University of Public Service hosted the Grappling University Championship.
Grappling is a kind of hybrid combat sport that does not use strikes, but does use ground and pound, throws, numerous chokes, holds, tightening (manipulation of the body parts’ attachment points) – this is the key in grappling. The style has evolved from traditional wrestling, judo, sambo, judo and other martial arts using submission holds.
For the competition, 137 students from 23 universities submitted 194 entries. Alexa Tóth, a student of Corvinus University of Budapest – Gi Grappling Advanced Women 58 kg category, won the first place and the special prize of the tournament, awarded by the organizers to the most successful female competitor!
