On 21 November 2024, the "Football Cup" was held as part of the Corvinus Sports Days. Twice a year, the Centre for Physical Education and Sport and the Student Union jointly organise this traditional event.

This year a record number of teams entered. The organisers had planned to accept 12 teams, as there is only 1 indoor court available at the Corvinus Sport Center, but to our surprise 26 teams signed up.

Fortunately, there is also a smaller but playable outdoor football pitch, the “GRUND”, which the organisers have brought into playable condition. 10 teams agreed to play outdoors, so an “indoor” tournament with 12 teams and an “outdoor” tournament with 10 teams started in parallel. Approximately 200 students actively participated in the competition. The two best “out” teams and the 2 best “in” teams played for the 1st – 4th places.

The match for the bronze medal was won 3:1 by the ” Olaszka ” team against “RealMargit”, thus taking third place. In the first-place fight, the team of “Eltesz” won 6:4 against “Kádár Nimrods” to take the championship trophy.

Final result:

1st place: ELTEsz

2nd place: Kádár Nimródék

3rd place: Olaszka

4th place: Reálmargit

Best player and top scorer of the tournament: Dávid Erdős

Best goalkeeper of the tournament: Zsombor Szabó

It had been a long time coming for a friendly match between a team of teachers and a team of students at such an event. This year, we did it again! The result was a friendly draw.

Result:

Teachers – Students: 7:7

The tournament as a whole was a good atmosphere, good quality matches and teams fighting in the spirit of fair play for all those who came to watch. It is no exaggeration to say that all participants had a great time, regardless of the result.

Congratulations to the winners and runners-up! On behalf of the organisers, we would like to thank all the participants for their contribution to the success of a high-quality sporting event.
