Celebrating our outstanding students

We presented the National Scholarship for Higher Education, the Pro Universitate Award and the Outstanding Athlete and Sports Team of the Year awards to our excellent students.

On 9 December, we celebrated the hard work, perseverance and talent of our students who have enhanced the reputation of our University.

The National Higher Education Scholarship is awarded by the Minister responsible at the initiative of the University to students who have shown outstanding performance. The scholarship is awarded to students who have earned at least 55 credits during their studies, have achieved outstanding academic results in the previous two semesters, have a grade point average of at least 4.5, and have done outstanding professional and community work.

The scholarship was awarded to:

  • Balázs Horváth

With the Pro Universitate Award, Corvinus University of Budapest aims to recognise students who have excelled in their studies over a number of years and who have enriched the achievements of the University, increased its visibility and recognition, and enhanced its reputation through their activities beyond their studies, such as outstanding academic work, community-building activities, and success in academic competitions.

He has received the Pro Universitate Award:

  • Bernadett Pálma Szilárd
  • Krisztián Filep

The Outstanding Athlete of the Year awards went to the following students:

  1. place: Krisztina Panna Sinkó – for her success in kayak canoeing, 1st place in the K2 1000m at the FISU World University Championships and 1st place at the U23 World Championships
  2. place: György Herczeg – for his achievements in the javelin throw, for his first place in the javelin throw at the Hungarian University and College National Championships, for his first place at the Hungarian Championships and for his participation in the European Athletics Championships
  3. place: Milán Ivády – for his achievements in floorball and ice hockey, for his bronze medal in the European men’s u19 ice hockey championship and for his 3rd place in the university floorball championship

The Outstanding Sports Team of the Year Award went to the Corvinus University of Budapest water polo team.

The members of the team are: Dávid Pápai, Áron Szepes, Barnabás Holubecz, Benedek Szőke, Kristóf Sziládi, Gábor Korbács, Mátyás Balogh, Dávid Domján, Tamás Botond Szaló, Károly Pongrácz, Zsolt Csizmazia, Martin Manhertz, Ákos Radics, Balázs Takács, Olivér Hertzka, Mór Kapronczay, Lőrincz Gábor, Bertold Vámosi, Botond Hörömpő, András Matesz, Benjamin Sági and Ádám Ofella.

Their coaches are Gábor Szőcs and Levente Miklós
