2024-10-30 15:01:00

In connection with the organizational changes coming into effect on November 1, we are announcing an open call for two Vice-Rector positions. We hope that many colleagues will find inspiration in these new opportunities and that their applications will contribute to further building Corvinus together, strengthening our international visibility and supporting our path toward a more successful future.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

Vice-Rector for Faculty and Research

This position, created by merging the former roles of Vice-Rector for General Affairs, and Vice-Rector of Research, is now open for internal applications, with a four-year term. Zoltán Oszkár Szántó, the current Acting Vice-Rector for Research and Dean of CIAS, will temporarily fill the role until the recruitment process concludes. Responsibilities include oversight of academic institutes, research centres, doctoral schools, the Library, Archives, and the newly integrated Centre for Grant and Project Management, which consolidates international (ERGO) and domestic grant activities.

Vice-Rector for Student Affairs

The University has launched an internal application for the position of Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, with a one-year term. Until the selection process concludes, this area will be directly overseen by the Rector. Later, an international call for applications will be launched to select a candidate for a long-term appointment. The new Vice-Rector will oversee high-quality provision of student services, development of the student experience, comprehensive support for career development and talent management, and supervision of the Centre for Physical Education and Sport.

Lajos György Szabó, former Vice-Rector for General and Acting Vice-Rector for Education, will fill the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Programmes.

About the Selection Process

At the rector’s request, a selection committee will be formed, consisting of academic representatives and the HR director, under the rector’s leadership. The committee will first review the applications received, interview candidates who meet the basic requirements, and make a recommendation. The recommended candidates will then be reviewed by the Senate and the designated members of Board of Trustees. Following this, the rector will make the final decision on the appointments.
