On 22 September, the Presidential Board of the Corvinus University of Budapest decided – in agreement with the maintainer – to provide extraordinary wage compensation of HUF 400 000 gross to alleviate the increased financial burden of staff due to the rise in food and overhead costs.
More than 900 employees will receive the benefit, at a total cost of more than HUF 410 million. The compensation is also available to those on long-term sick leave and those entitled to CSED. Part-time employees receive the payment in proportion to their employment, and new employees receive the payment after their probation period. Those with a gross monthly basic salary of more than HUF 1.5 million and those on notice are not eligible. The benefits package has been negotiated by the University management with the FDSZ BCE Trade Union.
The University will pay the compensation in two instalments: in October and December, together with the September and November salaries.
