Suburbanization Research with Fulbright Scholarship at Arizona State University

Dr. János Balázs Kocsis, associate professor in the Department of Geography and Planning, commenced his ten-month research and teaching tenure at Arizona State University, School of Geographical Studies and Urban Planning, in Tempe.

His research in the United States is conducted under the auspices of the Fulbright programme, facilitated by the support of Budapest Corvinus University and Arizona State University. During his residency, he undertakes a comparative study on suburbanisation in connection to the United States and Central Europe, for which Arizona State University, esteemed globally for its urban planning programmes and research, offers exceptional resources and opportunities. Alongside his research endeavours, Dr. Kocsis instructs two courses: one focused on participation in urban development and the other on comparative suburbanisation. In addition, dr. Kocsis has been invited as a guest speaker to Indiana University, Bloomington, where he will present Budapest’s formation as a metropolis in mid-October.
