Winter break and building closure at the end of the year and the first days of January

This year’s winter break will be between 21 December 2024 (Saturday) and 5 January 2025 (Sunday).  

During these two weeks the university buildings will be closed and no examination or teaching activities will take place. The University canteens will be open for the last time on Friday 20 December 2024 and will reopen on Monday 6 January 2025.     

Anyone wishing to enter a building during the total closure period must submit a new individual application by 20 December at the latest. Please plan and request a reservation only in duly justified cases.  The normal working conditions in the office areas will not be guaranteed, only tempering heating will be provided and the hot water supply in the buildings will be interrupted.   

There will be two Saturdays (7th and 14th) in December, on these two days, the educational buildings will be open according to the usual Saturday schedule: the Main Building will be closed (except on 8 December), Building C, the Salt House and the Gellért Campus will be open.
