New Dean of Master Programmes at Corvinus

From mid-October, Helga Habis Associate Professor will continue to work as a lecturer-researcher of the Institute of Economics. Her duties are taken over by Dániel Havran, Associate Professor at the Institute of Finance, as Acting Dean.

Helga Habis has been responsible for master programmes at Corvinus since January 2020. During this time, in addition to the efforts to renew study programmes, several new master programmes were launched that are only offered by Corvinus in Hungary. A significant result achieved in the area of internationalisation: Students may now complete eighty percent of the master study programmes  announced for the  current academic year in English only or in English as well. 

The Corvinus University of Budapest would like to thank Helga Habis for her dedicated work and the outstanding achievements in her field. Helga Habis will continue her academic activities at the Institute of Economics, and we wish her every success in her teaching and research work 

From 16 October 2023 to 31 August 2024, Dániel Havran, Associate Professor, will be the acting dean in charge of master programmes. His primary task will be to design and start implementing the new master programmes strategy. The aim is to create a radically new and internationally competitive portfolio of master study programmes, offering inspiring further study opportunities for our excellent bachelor graduates and attractive programmes at international level. A call for applications for the position of Dean of Master Programmes will be published in the coming months. 

Dániel Havran has been teaching at the University for more than 15 years, is responsible for the English-language Master in Finance study programme, he is Director of the Financial Management and Accounting Track of the Doctoral School of Business and Management, and a member of the Senate. He is a member of the Committee on Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and was elected   board member of EDAMBA last year. His research focuses on corporate finance, household finance and financial markets, with a special focus on liquidity.
