Introduction of György Walter PhD

Introduction of György Walter PhD.

Institute of Finance, Accounting and Economic Law / Department of Investment and Corporate Finance

I graduated from Corvinus and its predecessor, BKÁE, with a degree in finance. It was a bit of a coincidence that I finally applied for a doctoral programme after graduation. I finally defended my dissertation in 2002, during which time I taught at the then Department of Finance. In 2003, I decided to make a significant shift and went full-time to the commercial banking sector, where I worked in a various manager positions and responsibilities until 2013. I was teaching during that time, though not nearly as actively as before. In 2013, I returned to the Department Finance as a full-time instructor. The last seven years have been very active, I have taken over the management of several subjects and MBA programmes for four years and I have participated in programme development and specialization management. In addition to all this, I wrote articles and books, and tried to combine my practical experience with research and education. I habilitated in 2017.

Hobbies and interests:

I spend most of my free time with my four children. My hobbies are sports and travelling (when I can). Inspired by my children, I also write storybooks (under a pseudonym). Of these, six books have been sold, in approx. 10 editions and about 15-20 thousand copies, which I am very proud of.
