Corvinus Philosophy Workshop: Foundation and First Events

A new workshop has recently been founded by members of the Department of Political Sciences.
The Corvinus Philosophy Workshop (Corvinus Filozófia Műhely) was founded in May 2021.

Members of the Workshop are Tamás Demeter, Bulcsú Hoppál, Olga Kiss, Balázs Mezei and Gábor Toronyai, who are all members of the Department of Political Sciences.

The main scientific objective of the Workshop is to organize conferences, talks, book-launches and to define philosophical studies and the renewal of philosophy at Corvinus University.

So far there have been two public lectures organized by the Corvinus Philosophy Workshop. On 12th May Gábor Toronyai’s paper on Husserl’s phenomenological understanding of death was presented (the paper will be published here: http://filozofiaiszemle.net/hu/kezdolap/) and on 26th May Tamás Demeter’s paper entitled „Sympathies for Common Ends: The Principles of Organization in Hume’s Psychology and Political Economy” was introduced to the public. The series of lectures will continue in September. There will also be a conference on the famous Hungarian-American thinker, Thomas Molnar on 24th September. For more information contact bulcsu.hoppal@uni-corvinus.hu
