Acting Vice-Rector for Research presented the Corvinus’ innovation ecosystem in Brussels

A high-level, fully-booked event titled “Unleashing the Full Potential of the European Innovation Ecosystem” was jointly organized by the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European University Association (EUA), in collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and Corvinus University of Budapest. The event took place at the Permanent Representation of Hungary in Brussels on 10 September 2024, attracting participants from various sectors and organizations who gathered to discuss the challenges and potential solutions for bridging the innovation gap across Europe. 

Professor Zoltán Oszkár Szántó, Acting Vice-Rector for Research at Corvinus University, delivered a panel presentation, showcasing Corvinus University’s recent successes in driving innovation. He emphasized how emerging innovators can create meaningful impact within broader innovation ecosystems, underscoring Corvinus’ role as a catalyst for change. 

The discussions focused on the pivotal role of innovation in navigating Europe’s clean and digital transitions, which are essential for ensuring long-term competitiveness. Participants agreed that collaboration among all stakeholders is key to achieving this goal. 

The participants highlighted the importance of investment in skill development, resource allocation, and building cross-sectoral cooperation at microregional, national, and international levels. These efforts are essential for strengthening Europe’s innovation capacity in an equitable and synergistic way. 

Orsolya Lugmayer, liaison officer of Corvinus University, also supported the event and played a key role in facilitating the successful collaboration.
