As the spring semester begins worldwide, student organizations are springing back to life. The same holds true at New York University's (NYU) Middle Eastern campus, where the region’s largest student startup conference, Slush’d Abu Dhabi, will take place at the end of February. This event is the local spin-off of the globally renowned student-driven initiative, Slush.

The nearly 1,000-person event will bring together key investors and startups from the Middle East alongside students from the renowned NYU campus. Bálint Dobai, a student at Corvinus University and the founder of the Entrepreneurship Club of Corvinus (ECC), also received an invitation to the event, providing the university’s entrepreneurial club with the opportunity to be represented at this prestigious conference.

Bálint’s aim is to boost the international visibility of Corvinus and its student entrepreneurial community while building valuable connections with key players in the region’s startup ecosystem.

Since its establishment in June 2024, ECC has provided a vibrant community of young founders and entrepreneurs, networking opportunities, entrepreneurial education, and skill development to over 70 aspiring young entrepreneurs. Its members include not only students from Corvinus but also engineering, law, and medical students – highlighting the importance of diverse expertise and skill sets in building successful startup teams.

Corvinus University is deeply committed to supporting student initiatives, and Bálint’s participation will contribute to the growth of not only the ECC but also the university’s broader entrepreneurial community. The experiences and connections gained at the event will be brought back to Hungary to strengthen Corvinus’s role in both the domestic and international startup worlds through new collaborations and initiatives.
