During the inaugural Steering Committee meeting, five distinguished alumni from the BSc Business & Management program at Corvinus recently convened to establish the program’s first informal alumni volunteer leadership body.

In addition to discussing organizational matters, the alumni covered a range of topics, including university branding and program promotion, diversity, and the international student experience. They also explored ways to channel alumni feedback to adjust the program curriculum, discussed the value of the alumni network, and deliberated on mentoring and employability.

Blanka Bákai (’23), Gábor Kővári (‘11), Lili Somogyi (’18), and Miso Koljenovic (’09) joined Program Director Prof. Judit Nagy and Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement Dr. Serge Sych in person, while Zoltán Rádai (’21) connected online from the Middle East. These experienced alumni volunteers, representing various generations and sectors of the economy, were motivated to accept roles on the steering committee for various reasons. However, a common thread among them all was the desire to provide current students with a similarly positive experience as they once received during their Corvinus student days.

The meeting showcased a strong commitment from alumni to give back to their academic program and the University community. Guiding and coordinating this important initiative, the central Alumni Relations and Career Development team will collaborate with other internal stakeholders to further develop the alumni volunteer leadership framework and shape the ways alumni can support their alma mater.
