The first Danube Cup international conference in 2022 successfully connected researchers and educators in the area of entrepreneurship education at the Corvinus University of Budapest. This year’s conference is going to be hosted by the University of Belgrade in Serbia. The Call for Abstracts is now open.
The research and conference pillar of our Danube Cup international brand is spreading its wings with such great momentum that the 2023 conference is being organized by the University of Belgrade, with the assistance of the Corvinus University of Budapest.
The conference will take place on November 24th-25th, 2023 in Belgrade, Serbia, at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The website of the conference is available here.

Reasons, Content, Methods & Impact – How to Create a HEI-led Entrepreneurial Ecosystem?
The conference aims to bring together distinguished researchers and PhD students from all over the world, with particular focus on the Central and Eastern European region. Participants will find opportunities for presenting new research, exchanging information on their experiences with entrepreneurship education, and discussing current issues of entrepreneurship. Although we focus on Europe, colleagues from all entrepreneurship areas – theoretical or empirical – are highly encouraged to submit their abstracts.

Abstract/Paper Submission
Please send an extended abstract of 500-800 words by September 30, 2023. We kindly ask that you indicate which section you would like to participate in. The conference is set to highlight entrepreneurship/start-up education trends, share experiences and knowledge and point out applied measures that can be implemented at other HE institutions. An extended abstract template is available here.
All accepted abstracts will be published electronically in the Conference Program and the Abstract Book (with an ISBN number). It will be distributed to all conference participants at the conference via USB.
Day 2:
On November 25th, Prof. Elisabeth Berger from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria, is going to lead a research methods workshop. Prof. Berger is professor for Entrepreneurship – New Business Venturing and Innovative Regions. Her work has been published in various entrepreneurship and management journals, including the Journal of Business Venturing, the Journal of Business Research, and the European Management Journal. Elisabeth Berger is co-editor of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Business Research.

In response to the publisher’s proposals after last year’s Danube Cup conference – to generate more international publications, with a group of authors not belonging to the same institution/not representing the same country -, on November 25th, we are going to organise a research pitch session (Research elevator pitch) where colleagues can pitch their research, following the pitch template of Prof. Faff, with the aim of finding international collaborators for their intended research activity focusing on entrepreneurship education.

We will organize a special paper development workshop and a “Meet the editor” session during the conference. Selected papers are to be offered consideration and potentially a fast-track double-blind review in the following journals:
