Clean Energy Transition Partnership to boost the energy transition
The Clean Energy Transition (CET) Partnership, an intergovernmental research and innovation programme co-funded by Horizon Europe, aims to boost and accelerate the energy transition and to support the implementation of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan).
Partnerships calls are not affected by the temporary restriction of the Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2506, so we can apply for and receive funding (even in the role of a Coordinator). The proposal is submitted and evaluated at international level, but the Hungarian member(s) of the winning consortium will sign the grant agreement with the National Research, Development and Innovation Office.
Joint Call 2023
The CETPartnership Joint Call 2023 is the second co-funded call under the CETPartnershipt, which is expected to be funded by 31 countries. To cover different topics and RDI types, the Call is structured into 12 Call Modules, aimed at different energy technologies and/or systems as well as both research and innovation-oriented approaches on different Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), complementing and completing each other.
- Direct current (DC) technologies for power networks
- Energy system flexibility: renewables production, storage and system integration
- Advanced renewable energy technologies for power production
- Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS)
- Hydrogen and renewable fuels
- Heating and cooling technologies
- Geothermal energy technologies
- Integrated regional energy systems
- Integrated industrial energy systems
- Clean energy integration in the built environment
Call phases
International phase: The international call is performed in 2 stages: submission of a pre-proposal followed by an invite to submit a full proposal.
- Stage 1: Submission of a pre-proposal, project consortium chooses one Call Module for the pre-proposal. If the pre-proposal is selected, the project consortium is invited to submit a full proposal.
- Stage 2: Submission of a full proposal. It is not possible to join stage 2 directly, only if the pre-proposal is invited to participate in stage 2.
National/regional phase: All the partners from the projects selected in Stage 2 of the International Phase should apply for the national phase directly at their relevant funding agency. In the case of Hungarian partners, a Hungarian-language application should be submitted to the NRDI Office (no further evaluation at national level will take place, the NRDI Office will accept the results of the international evaluation).
