In 2015 Corvinus University of Budapest and Magyar Nemzeti Bank entered into a cooperation agreement

Corvinus and the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB) are closing their collaboration. During their partnership started in 2015, two master’s programmes have been renewed; the Geopolitics and Sustainable Development doctoral programme has been launched as an independent programme; and the Fudan-Corvinus Double Degree MBA programme has been established. Corvinus and MNB are currently working together on a smooth transition, so neither the educational portfolio, nor students, nor the faculty will suffer any disadvantage.

In 2015 Corvinus University of Budapest and the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB) entered into a cooperation agreement, as a result of which the MNB Department was established and later elevated into institutional status. Attributable to this successful cooperation in past years,

  • the Economic Analysis master’s programme has been renewed, in Hungarian and English languages;
  • the Regional and Environmental Economic Studies master’s programme has been renewed, in Hungarian and English languages;
  • the joint Corvinus – Fudan University MBA programme has been launched, with MNB’s professional support and scholarship programme;
  • the Geopolitics and Sustainable Development doctoral programme has been launched as an independent programme;
  • several scholarship programmes have been made available;
  • and a number of important textbooks and books in special fields have been published as a result of the collaboration.

Contrary to assumptions published in the press, there are no professional or leadership conflicts between MNB and Corvinus. The leadership of MNB and Corvinus are currently working together on a smooth transition, so neither the educational portfolio, nor students, nor the faculty will suffer any disadvantage. Thus, the University will on its own be able in future to ensure conditions for smooth operations without the involvement of an external partner.

Please note, however, that, as one of its strategic goals, Corvinus aims to maintain close strategic relationships with many key corporate and institutional actors of the economy and society in Hungary. That is why the University is having negotiations with both corporate and institutional partners on establishing strategic collaborations. These opportunities are not tied to individual institutes or departments, but to the University as a whole, and units from several fields within the University are involved in them.
