Our student, Réka Márkus and her team from MOME won the first prize of the popular competition.
Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem

CheckINN is Hungary’s first tourism innovation HUB, which encourages young people to develop tourism in Hungary through various projects. Their Revitalizator initiative aims to generate ideas for the reuse of abandoned or disused areas and properties for tourism purposes. The competition was organised for the third time in partnership with the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.

The competition was open to students from different universities and faculties, who were invited to enter in a team, subject to the condition that they were interested in tourism, architecture and design. The final was held on 12 September, where the teams had to present their ideas for the tourism reuse of specific brownfield and brownfield sites.

The winner was the team “Fészek”, who dreamed up a Fészek Tourist Point on the barren Pilis hilltop, complete with a bicycle rental, a hot tub, a tourist hostel, and a bunker playground. They had to give a short presentation in front of a professional jury. The team consisted of Réka Márkus (Corvinus University of Budapest), Kristóf Lipótzy (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) and Borbála Véghelyi (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design).

Congratulations to the winners!
