The project, titled “NATUREFIN – Align Nature Impacts of Regional Development with Sustainable Finance Regulation,” aims to address nature-related risks and preserve biodiversity through innovative sustainable finance and enhancing policy instruments for regional development.”
The total budget for this project amounts to €1,409,074, with Corvinus’s share being €343,680. The project will run for four years, commencing in May 2025, and involves collaboration with seven partner institutions from Albania, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, and Spain.
The principal investigator for this collaboration is Dr. Helena Naffa, Associate Professor at the Institute of Finance and Director of the Sustainable Finance Research Centre (SFRC). She is supported by SFRC members Dr. Gábor Gyura, sustainable finance policy expert and Admilson Veloso, communications expert. The application was assisted by Viktória Varga and Gréta Maró from the Centre for Grant and Project Management.
The NATUREFIN project collaborates with policy responsible regional authorities to mitigate the adverse impacts of economic activities on biodiversity by enhancing policy instruments for regional development and addressing nature-related risks. By aligning regional development policies with EU sustainable finance regulations (SFDR, Taxonomy Regulation, CSRD), it enables the private sector to access sustainable funding and supports the public sector in attracting green investments, ultimately driving nature-positive outcomes and advancing biodiversity preservation.
Congratulations to SFRC for this outstanding achievement!
