Defibrillators are medical devices that can save lives by generating a short-lasting electric current to stop the heart from racing.
If resuscitation is necessary, it must always be reported to the reception desk in person, by telephone or by informing the patrol officer (security guard) on duty.
Defibrillators are located at the reception desks of the buildings and the reception desk has the primary authority to operate the defibrillator. To operate defibrillators, it is essential that the person operating the device has basic first aid knowledge.
The devices, which are placed in the University buildings, communicate with the first-aid provider in Hungarian and/or English and are capable of analysing the heart rhythm.
If the defibrillator is to be used, it is of paramount importance that you should only act under the guidance of the device and not override the device and make decisions on your own or act contrary to the device’s instructions.
