At a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees of the maintaining foundation of Corvinus, it was decided that all our students who have been awarded an Erasmus+ for the autumn semester of the 2023/24 academic year will receive the necessary financial resources.

With the next semester approaching, and in line with its earlier promise to cover the costs of Erasmus+ scholarship holders if needed, the Board of Trustees of the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, at its meeting of 24 April 2023, set out the financial details for the funding of Erasmus+ students who will be going abroad in the next autumn semester.

These rules instituted at Corvinus will enter into force if the ban on foundation universities to receive EU higher education funding remains in force at the time when the  grant agreements are to be signed. In this case, the Foundation will complement the Erasmus+ funding currently available at Corvinus.

This will also allow students who have been awarded an Erasmus+ to go abroad who would no longer be funded under the current Erasmus+ framework. The following rules will determine which student will receive the necessary funding from which source.

1. Direct Erasmus+ funding:

The available Erasmus+ funding will be allocated to the following students who will be going abroad in autumn 2023/24, in the order below:

  1. Students who apply for and are awarded a grant in one of the Erasmus+ programmes promoting equal opportunities and/or reserved for applicants with a chronic illness.
  2. Students who have been awarded an Erasmus+ in the Erasmus+ Study Abroad competition, in the order of their scores in the main competition, until the budget is exhausted. In the case of a tie, the student with the higher cumulative adjusted credit index wins the grant.

Students going abroad with Erasmus+ funding are eligible for additional Erasmus+ grants, such as Green Travel.

2. Financing by the Foundation:

  • For students who have been awarded an Erasmus+ Study Abroad grant, but do not receive funding from the available Erasmus+ financial envelope, the Corvinus Foundation will provide the funding. This funding will be equivalent to the basic scholarship under the Erasmus+ scheme.
  • Students going to bilateral destinations who will be awarded funding under the Call for Proposals (to be notified after the closure of the 2023 International Study Abroad Supplementary Call) will also be eligible for foundation funding, and will receive support equivalent to the Erasmus+ basic grant and travel costs.

Students traveling with funding from the Foundation for a Study Abroad programme are not eligible for further support (eg. Green Travel).

The university will notify the students concerned in June of the funding they will receive for their trip. Corvinus will provide information on the Erasmus+ funding rules for the spring semester of the academic year at the end of August.
