A professional association focusing on process management launches, led by our colleague

The work of the Business Process Management Hungary (BPM-H) has officially begun. The founding document of the organization was signed at Corvinus University of Budapest at the end of February. Péter Fehér, Associate Professor, Director of International Relations at Corvinus University, and researcher at the Institute of Data Analytics and Informatics, has become the president of BPM-H. He emphasized the importance of building the professional community and strengthening international relations at the time of its establishment.
“With the formation of BPM-H, we are creating a professional platform that fosters knowledge exchange, supports the sharing of best practices, and contributes to the development of the domestic business process management culture,” said Péter Fehér. He added: “Our goal is to elevate the process management profession in Hungary to its rightful place, recognizing its strategic importance in terms of corporate efficiency and innovation.”
The association plans to organize numerous conferences, symposiums, and professional events aimed at presenting the latest trends and methodologies, as well as fostering dialogue between domestic and international experts. The organization’s first major in-person professional event, with approximately 100 attendees, will take place on April 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The event will include a professional lecture and a roundtable discussion, examining the boundaries of business process management, such as its overlap with project management and its relationship with manufacturing processes.
In addition, BPM-H will compile an extensive knowledge base, which will be available to its members, supporting continuous professional development. Furthermore, the organization places a strong emphasis on building and maintaining corporate relationships, which will allow the methodologies to be demonstrated in practice, ensuring their effective application in everyday business processes.
The general objectives include supporting the education of business process management, promoting research and development, and upholding high standards of professional quality and ethical norms.
BPM-H is open to all professionals and organizations interested in the development of business process management, and who wish to join a distinguished professional community both in Hungary and internationally. Further information regarding membership can be found on the association’s website.
Corvinus University of Budapest has a long tradition of business process management, which is taught in many courses, including business informatics, management and leadership, but also in the CEMS and the EMBA programmes of the university.
