There are times in a university student’s life when tackling the daily routine of academic tasks can feel daunting. Fortunately, Corvinus University offers solutions to this challenge—one of them are sports. In this article, we’ve compiled the various opportunities available for Corvinus students who wish to engage in physical activities.

Physical Education Classes

Among the available options, the most obvious is participating in physical education (PE) classes. These are excellent, free opportunities to stay active: two semesters of PE are mandatory for bachelor’s students, while master’s students can choose them. The university offers a wide range of activities, allowing students to choose the one that suits them best. The selection includes 31 different sports, ranging from crossfit, TRX, and other strength training sessions to self-defense classes and team sports like volleyball, basketball, football, and floorball.
For those who prefer individual activities, options like tennis, table tennis, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and even chess are also available.

This fall, the Corvinus Sport Center opened at the new Gellért Campus. In addition to PE classes, the center offers other amenities such as boulder, sauna, and gym, all of which can be used at a discounted rate by Corvinus students and staff.

After completing the two mandatory semesters, students can still enroll in PE courses for a fee of HUF 5,000. Most courses during the mandatory period are free of charge, but an additional fee (HUF 14,000) is required for tennis classes. The dance studio located in Building C offers various dance classes, including ballroom dances, salsa, bachata, and folk dances, all as part of the PE curriculum.

Gym

The university’s gym, located in the Kinizsi Street dormitory just 200 meters from Building C, features several rooms equipped with a variety of machines and tools for workouts. Students can access the gym independently at their own expense, while PE gym sessions are held at the Gellért Campus.
The Gellért Campus also boasts a newly opened gym equipped with brand-new, modern fitness machines.

Közgáz Sports Club and Student Sports Circle

If you’re interested in competitive sports or continuing your previous athletic career, it’s worth exploring the opportunities offered by the Közgáz Sports Club and Student Sports Circle. Within the sports club, six disciplines can be pursued competitively: water polo, judo, futsal, basketball, and volleyball. Students also have the chance to participate in inter-university championships, while in football, internal university tournaments are often organized.
