We came, saw and won

Economics Online is the official student blog of the Corvinus University of Budapest, which currently employs eighteen students. Our main objective is to explore topics that affect and fascinate youth, as well as to present university life. Among our articles, everyone can find the topic and format close to them, considering that from event reports to interviews to recommendations, we work on a variety of themes in a sometimes serious sometimes lighter style. Our journal has been coloring the daily lives of students since 1951. It has been published as a weekly, two weekly and two monthly newspaper, however, it is published online in a blog format since 2019.

This year, our editorial team was invited to participate in the National Youth Press Festival, as we were among the winners of the DUE Talent Research Student Media Contest. We were very pleased when it was announced that we were ranked first, winning the title of Online Student Media of the Year. After the award ceremony, we tried to try out as many programs as possible. Fruzsina Máriássy (Chief Editor) and Viola Weiner (Journalist) recorded mini-podcasts with the guests invited to the event. We entered a media-awareness Kahoot game, visited the stands of the present organizations and also defeated our challengers in foosball.

Our team enjoyed the event especially because it took place in a very positive mood and gave us the opportunity to get to know each other, journalists from other newspapers and various organizations. We are very pleased with the award, considering that it is a prestigious professional recognition of our work that will continue to motivate us.
