Jubilee diploma award ceremony at Corvinus

2023-10-11 15:51:00

This year, more than 200 jubilee honorary degrees were awarded to former students of the University.

Prof. Dr. Lajos Szabó, Acting Rector, Dr. Réka Vas, Deputy Rector and Dr. Richárd Szántó, Dean of the University, presented 202 ruby, iron, diamond and gold jubilee diplomas to alumni who graduated 70, 65, 60 and 50 years ago respectively.

To mark this milestone, as a meaningful way to commemorate the anniversary of their graduation, a successful Class Gift campaign was launched among the Jubilee cohort, in support of our beloved University Library. This cause is just as important to alumni who studied here in the fifties, sixties and seventies as it is to current students, and their gift will impact the lives of Corvinus students for decades to come.

Addressing the Jubilee cohort alongside Prof. Dr. Lajos Szabó, Acting Rector, was Mónika Fischer, Head of the University Library, who thanked the cohort for their support of the Class Gift campaign and encouraged them to visit the Library too, as part of the university’s alumni services.

Celebrating their anniversary, our Jubilee graduates were delighted to reconnect with old classmates and reminisce about their years at the University, and had the chance to visit the University History exhibition, as well as the old Zsibongó.

In recent years, the University has awarded honorary degrees to thousands of distinguished professionals who have further enhanced the reputation of Corvinus and its predecessor institutions through their professional success in the international economic, political and academic spheres. We are proud to continue this tradition in the years to come.
