With these specific words, Dr Jenny Tian, Director of MSc Program in Real Estate Chinese University of Hong Kong (the 36th best University in the world according to the recent QS ranking), praised the creative, multicultural and highly professional academic visit spent as a guest of the Institute of Sustainable Development in May 2024. The one-week intensive study trip was organized by the Department of Tourism, under the professional guidance of Lívia Pintér-Szabó and Anna Irimiás. Within the framework of the program, students of the Corvinus Tourism Marketing and Management course and students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong worked together on a project to strengthen the positioning of Budapest hotels in Asian markets. A special feature of the project work was that the students could carry out the exploratory research in the framework of cooperation with four exclusive hotels in Budapest (Estilo Fashion Hotel, Barcelo Hotel, B&B Hotel and Hotel Vision).

The group from Hong Kong arrived to Budapest on Sunday. On Monday, the students attended a short city tour, and then they got to know the hotels that were the subject of the research and their respected managers. The students spent the afternoon at a gulyás soup party, where they had the opportunity to get to know each other in an informal atmosphere. The Meininger Hotel Budapest provided them with a fantastic location for the cooking and team building.
