The Mediatized EU meeting has taken place at the Corvinus University

During the workshop, the project researchers presented their research findings and discussed policy recommendations based on the lessons with the invited audience. The lively discussion with the audience of researchers provided valuable input to the list of recommendations and oriented further research.  

The MEDEU Workshop programme was the following:  

• György Lengyel – Göncz, Borbála –  Ilonszki, Gabriella: The pragmatic and symbolic aspects of European integration in the Hungarian media, among elites and in public opinion 
• Ágnes Urbán: The construction of an illiberal media system in the European Union – lessons from developments in Hungary  

• Melegh, Attila: Migration discourses and European hierarchies 
• Tóth, Lilla: Discourses and disinformation about the EU in Hungary – the case of the Covid 19 epidemic 
• Tamássy, Réka – Vancsó, Anna – Bocskor, Ákos: ‘Gender ideology’ or Christian Europe: political and media discourses on the homophobic law   
• The afternoon programme was devoted to a discussion of policy recommendations, chaired by Gabriella Ilonszki.
