Renowned foreign lecturers celebrate the launch of the PPE Bachelor’s degree

On the first day, two public debates were held, exploring the problems of modern society that can arise in all three desciplines of PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics). The participants approached possible responses from different angles. In the first debate, Christoph Kuzmics (University of Graz) and Károly Mike (ELTE) expressed their thoughts on how the importance and aspects of rules and their political economic interpretation can provide significant perspectives for understanding the interface between politics and economics.  

The second debate was about the idea of happiness, with the participation of Julian Jamison (University of Exeter) and Zoltán Balázs (Corvinus University). Through the debates, the organising academics had the intention to introduce students to the world of concepts related to their studies and highlight the importance of different views and interpretations in understanding the world around us. 

On the second day, the students participated in small group sessions on experiments related to economic models. The focus was on human motivation, rationality, strategic thinking, social objectivity and morality. One of the main objectives of the course, which starts in English, is to equip students with critical thinking skills alongside the data analysis skills that are highly valued in the labour market.
